Dramatic Monologue

Dramatic Monologue

A Villains Tale

"I don't see why you are waiting for the police...
You know, once you leave and they cuff me
Once they put me in jail, I'll be out in five minutes
I'll back terrorizing everything you hold dear.

You'll stop me again?
What happens when you aren't there?
When you are caught up in something else
And I find your pretty little red-headed girlfriend
She won't even see me coming.
Remember last time you were too late...
That poor family...
You got to that hotel at what time of the party?
Oh that's right, when her feet stopped kicking...
Fuckin' hilarious.
Poor little super-baby, so distraught over that family...
It was a big family eh... Three kids?
And the one was just a baby; I really thought it'd bounce.
Hah! You have to admit
Me writing those offensive statements with that bloke's intestines;
Brilliant!
Simply brilliant.
I got a laugh out of that, how about you?
Ahh never mind!

Awh I love the sounds of sirens in the morning...
Late afternoon?
What time is it anyways...
No I will not shut up.
How rude.
By the way, I love the red on you;
Brings out the seriousness in your eyes.

Hey look over there!
That one is still twitching...
You always come seconds too late
I can't believe I missed that shot though
Just nicked her ear...
Maybe I'll look for it when I get out.

Hmm, so before the mighty police come
Back to that hottie you're dating...
I think, next time I see her
I'll take her with my
Bare hands.
Shooting her just seems so informal.
I mean, since you and I have become so close...
I think she'll kick,
Hell, I'll even count the seconds it takes for her to stop
Just for you.

Awh am I making you upset?
You look a little angry...
Did I offend you in anyway, sir?
You really going to shoot me with my own gun?
How poetic.
You don't have the balls for that, you and I both know it.

An Ode to Almost-You

It could be the way the moonlight hits the water
Or perhaps the way the winters kiss, frosts the pines
But something about this wondrous forest;
reminds me of your eyes
Maybe it's the way the mountain peaks
Blanket the trees with snow
It could be when the wolves all howl
And it chills me to the bone
Something about you, is so aesthetically pleasing
That I'm trying to find one thing
From the curves of your body, to your flowing hair
Or how your voice blissfully sings
When you barely whisper my name
Or when you catch me blushing
Because your shirt is cut low
And some tanned bosom is showing
I wander this forest aimlessly
And everything reminds me of you
Personality is something I can't recall
But you physically, is what I pursue
You have an effect I can't quite explain
Where you do more than please my eyes
Your simple words, and flawless flow
Seem to confuse my mind
And I've come to terms with perfection
And everything you do, it seems
Legs of a dancer, and smile of an angel
Something you see through dreams
Dreams that keep me up half the night
Because I'm thinking of falling asleep
I should confess, nameless love of mine
It is my heart, you unknowingly keep

Narrative Poem

I gripped her hand tightly and said we had to walk

She whispered it was freezing, and I said "I'd warm you up."

The snow was barely falling, but the sun wasn't out enough

To warm our bodies and our hearts, so she put on her earmuffs

We left the warmth inside the home and walked beneath street lights

I watched her breath as she was speaking, form in the evening night

We touched on topics such as love, and the meaning of our lives

We had a ways to go; our destination still not in our sights

I had a flask in my back pocket; she spoke of addictions that we had

She said she needed coffee and I replied with "Dear, you got it bad."

We watched the silhouetted snowflakes, then she kissed me on the cheek

I felt warm despite the snow and I swear my knees went weak

Every step we took, left a story in the snow

We gave the story pictures by drawing on car windows

Our Gallivant had started, moments or weeks ago

All time seems to blur, when I am with you so

It gets hard to remember when I'm in this state of limerance

I seem to fool myself into thinking 'everything is permanent'

I mustn't think too much, I'm in love for this instant

It's quite an incredible feelings- 'She looks rather brilliant'

I think to myself, as moonlight catches on her elegance

The first date, always brings out innocence

We round a bend and the wind becomes prominent

But still anything but her, fades from my existence

We noticed the coffee shop could be seen

Through the snowfall and between the trees

It wasn't freezing but there was a breeze

And I knew I was living for times just like these

You said we had to hurry, so you quickened your pace

Each footstep carried you closer to our favorite place

Inside, it had a distinct smell and an amazing taste

You ordered our drinks as I counted freckles on your perfect face

We took our time through our conversation

Each topic an accomplice to our procrastination

The shop was closing soon and we had to head home

But I didn't mind walking, because I wouldn't be alone

Sonnet

I've been praising not success but mistakes
And I don't know who you are anymore
And you're three whole words and eight letters late
I've been cleaning the blood off of our floor
Is all this really worth your addiction?
Keep lying; you won't avoid this issue
Two person trial for your conviction
What's worth more, us or scarlette stained tissues?
Do you think you're beautiful done like this?
Violent convulsions and make up smears
All your clothes are ruined and reak like piss
I've drowned out concern over the long years
You said you'd do it, and I called your bluff
But I think you're not trying hard enough

Lyric

The Shower Scene

I laid in bed, contemplating my life
I thought about the what's, why's, when's and who's
So much that I didn't notice my wife
Leave to go freshen up in the bathroom
My eyes were heavy and my thoughts were slow
And my dear, poor stomache wanted to eat
And so I decided that I would go
To the kitchen to fix myself a treat
On my return I turned up the fire
My wife's return was pleasant and quite nude
Right then I found myself not as tired
And definately not thinking of food

Immitation Poem

A Simple Tavern Wench

I found a tavern on a winter's night
Permiscuity and ale was the stench
A barmaid singing was the best of sights
Sipping; I watched the simple tavern wench
She sang and danced upon a wooden top;
Her skirt was short and her blouse was cut low
The boys called as she did a jig and hop
Her legs kept me warm, despite falling snow
The sky could open, and break the world
No soul would notice a single thing wrong
Busy pinching bottoms of serving girls
Too preoccupied with a wench's song
More ale in my body to take my life
And I swear I never forgot my wife

Immitated from Shakespeare's 'Sonnet III'
