Childrens Story Screen Play

Woods- Night

The Super-Family is ducking down behind trees as sirens can be heard in the background, spot lights can be seen flashing through the trees. Everyone is out of breath and has obviously been running for a long time.

Hal Allen

Mom why do they keep chasing us? What did we do?

Susan Allen places her hand on Hal's shoulder and looks deep into his eyes.

Susan Allen

Because... Because Hal, they are not ready for us...
They are scared of us.
They think we'll use our powers for evil.
They think we'll try to hurt everyone.

Hal Allen

(Exhausted)
But we saved those people! That isn't fair!
We saved them from that fire mom!

Susan Allen
(Soothingly)
I know honey, I know. You did great.
I've never seen you run that fast before Hal!
I couldn't even see you, you moved so fast. I'm proud of you.

Hal Allen

(Excited)
Thanks mom! You were great too!
I saw you lift that wall off that lady!
That was so cool! I want to be a great hero just like you!

Susan laughs, but presses her finger to her lips to quiet Hal as a voice can be heard in the background yelling. The sirens get louder as more police cars show up.

CUT TO:

CITY- NIGHT

Jared and Todd Allen stand ontop of a tall office building, and look out into the distance. Sirens and a woman's screams can be heard below. Jared seems calm, but a look of nervousness can be seen in his face while Todd is bouncing on his heels, excited to save the day.

Todd Allen

Dad what are we waiting for?

Jared Allen

You'll know when it happens.
We can't act yet... We could get in trouble,
so you just got to trust me... Do you trust me Todd?

Todd Allen
Of course Dad.

Gun shots go off in the distance.

Jared Allen

Todd...
(Smiles)
It's time to go to work.

Todd Allen
Yes!

Jared Allen flies off the building while Todd runs towards the door leading to the roof, and takes off down the stairs at superspeed.

CUT TO:

STREET- NIGHT

A deserted street, with police ducking behind their cars facing off against two men in bandit hats, gun shots are being exchanged. The heroes show up in a back alley and wait for the perfect moment.

Jared Allen
(Whispers)
Okay, we need to time this perfectly.
We can't let the police know we're here.

Jared is cut off by Todd running away. Newspapers and garbage get kicked up in the jetstream. The gunshots stop and Todd returns abrubtly with the criminals guns in his arms, and smiling.

Todd Allen

(Happily)
They didn't even see me!

Jared Allen

That was very dangerous and wreckless!
But I am so proud of you.

Jared leans in close to Todd.

Jared Allen
(Cont'd)
Don't tell your mother.
One of the police men walk up to the heroes, with a stern look on his face.

Police Man
I'd like to thank you for disarming these criminals
But, I'm afraid you are under arrest.
You know hero work if prohibited... I'm sorry,
But if I want to keep my job
I'm going to have to take you down town.

Jared looks at Todd, then at the officer, then back at Todd.

Jared Allen

(Whispers)

Todd; run. Run as fast as you can.

Go find your brother and mom.

Todd Allen

But dad!

Jared Allen

Don't argue. Run. Now.

Turns back to officer

Okay officer, I understand,

but you do realise, that no prison of yours

can hold me, and that I'm only going

to provide a good example to my boy.

Police Man

Then I thank you, sir.

Todd takes off in a blur.
